About
Public spaces offer a unique envirnoment for all citizens to get connected with others, communicate, learn, share and enjoy cultural and artistic expressions… However, the use and management of these spaces is highly dependent on many factors, actors and conditions. In an aging society, having more and more immigrants, with increased visibility towards the role of women, it seems crucial to move all these issues to the cities spaces, not to lose the democratic ideal of justice and equity on which citizenship is built and to offer opportunities to all for share, contribute and learn.
citiZENs project partners are aware about the potential of the cities to offer visible and invisible learning opportunities to everybody, promoting the direct acquisition of key competences for lifelong learning such as communication in mother and foreign languages, social and civic competences, cultural awareness and expression, sense of initiative and learning to learn. On this conviction, the project mainly focuses on creating an EU network that will exchange experiences, practices, analyses, share and develop recommendations to transform the EU public spaces on participative, inclusive and learning spaces.
